Featured Artist: Dessarae Bassil -- My work is about the generational passing on of "womanhood" through the socialized inculturation that happens in girlhood. It deals with a deep seeded frustration with the patriarchal society we live in and the desire to de-pateriarchalize both myself and others. The feminized experience is both abject and absurd- I deal with these topics through the use of humor.
